What I Wore #3

This little project of mine has been going rather smoothly if I say so myself.  I've enjoyed doing it so far.   Just to get you up to day, for any new readers.  What I Wore was started by a sweet girl named Lindsey in CA.  She is a stay at home mom and runs a business out of her home as well.  Being that she was at home a lot, she tended to wear a lot of sweats and pjs all day long.  To make herself feel better she began taking a daily photo to help hold her accountable to actually get dressed.

I started this project for myself because I found that I was wearing the same things over and over again.  I've actually done better than I thought I would starting into week #4 as of tomorrow.  I have only worn one dress twice.  (can anyone pinpoint it??)  I can't believe that I actually have this many clothes that I've not been wearing.  Kinda exciting.

Lucky Duck

Friday & Saturday for whatever reasons, I happened to get really lucky.  At least I thought I was lucky!  I was browsing the J. Crew website and happened upon these two beauties.  When I saw the first dress, I really liked it.  When I saw the price I REALLY liked it.  When I saw that I would get it at an additional 40% off I REALLY REALLY LIKED it.  Being that it was only available in the clover color, I knew it would be the perfect Easter dress.  What do you think?
Original Price:  $195
MY PRICE:  $23
SAVED:  $172

This next dress is one that I happened upon on Saturday.  I actually really wanted it in the robin's egg blue, but for whatever reason the website said it was still available but after calling J. Crew, it was only available in white.  So I bought the white one.  I think it will look great this spring/summer.  I'm itching to put some color with it to give it a pop.

Original Price:  $98
MY PRICE:  $12
SAVED:  $86

SUNDAY
I was trying to layer as much as I could b/c we were on the verge of a winter storm.
Thus, it was very cold outside.
(this also isn't the best picture, but b/c of the dark colors it was hard to see so I had to lighten it which made it look worse, at least I think, but you can see the colors, somewhat.)

Gray Cardigan - Old Navy
Black Leggings - Walmart
Rosette Boots - Belk
Black Scarf (that is thrown over my shoulder) - Gifted and Made by my Mom.

MONDAY

Sunday night we were slammed with about a foot of snow.
Needless to say, I wasn't able to get out to go to work.
So this is what I looked like all day Monday.
With the exception of when I decided to go for a walk;
in which I looked like a yetti so that I wouldn't freeze outside..
These are the clothes that you will never see me out in public wearing.
No one should be subjected to this hot mess.
Ugh - look at those thunderous thighs! Barf. (reminder to spend more time in the gym!)

Long Sleeved Shirt - super old from Old Navy
tank - Walmart
Leggings - Walmart
Leg Warmer/Socks - Christmas gift from my nephew, Lucas

Six Years

Wow.
I cannot believe that Sunday (January 9, 2011) marked six years since Matt and I went on our first date.
Not only was it our a first date, it was our first face-to-face encounter.
We had never seen each other prior to meeting at Quin Theater to watch Meet the Fockers.
As most of you know, our relationship started with a little note left on a car.
I never would have thought in a million years that little note would lead to such a wonderful and amazing relationship with the man I hope to one day call my husband.

In the past six years:
we have enjoyed each other's company,
we have traveled,
we have laughed (a lot),
we've had our spits and spats (not as much),
we have leaned hard on each other when we've lost loved ones (David & Poppie),
and we have loved each other unconditionally.

I can only hope and pray
that someday I will no longer be the girlfriend,
but the wife of this man who has taken my heart by storm.
I know in my heart, that he is the one for me.
I know that I will be the best wife that I can be and
I know that he will be a wonderful husband to me.

I know I am silly to think that this date is a special day or feel the need to celebrate this day.
But I cannot hide my love or my exctiement that I met my best friend
on this day.  So it will ALWAYS be a special day to me.
I only hope that it is just as special to Matt
as it is to me.
It is the day that I met my soulmate face to face.

I love you, always.

What I Wore Wednesday

I follow Lindsey over at The Pleated Poppy.
Lindsey is a super cute, super sweet, and very talented lady who lives in California.
Although I’ve not taken the moment to go through her store and actually purchase anything, she has a ton of cute posies, bags, sacks, purses, and necklaces just to name a few.
I am hoping to order some items from her soon though.

Lindsey is a stay-at-home mom (who among keeping her store full of new and cute items) who home schools her three adorable children.  A while back, Lindsey started a project she has called “What I Wore Wednesday” or “WIWW” for short.  She created this project to help keep her accountable to her attire.
She has stated in past WIWW posts, that she found herself getting in the rut of wearing sweats or pjs all day long because she was at home all day.  This project is to keep her accountable and force her to get up and get dressed everyday.

Some days, she still wears sweats, but she does a good job of putting together cute outfits and such.
Plus, she is so tiny, that she could get away with wearing whatever she chose and would still look cute.

Regardless, every day (or as many days as possible), Lindsey takes a photograph of herself in her outfit.
She will name where got the item (if she knows) and sometimes where she is going in this outfit.

I have decided that I need to do something with my wardrobe.  I feel like I wear the same outfits or combinations over and over and over.  Its very boring.   I need to do something to spice up my wardrobe a little better.

So, I shall be joining Lindsey in her What I Wore Wednesday project, in an attempt to help me find new ways to wear old clothes.

I have a feeling that by doing this little project:
*I will feel better about myself.
*I will be able to see the areas I need to work on.
*I will be able to see where my hard work of working out is paying off!

Anyone want to join me in this project?

Inspire me and give me some new ideas.
Make me feel better that I’m not the only one who doesn’t put much effort into my daily attire.
Be on the look out next Wednesday for a WIWW.

Together, we'll see how this goes.
